Siwa Bioworks integrates bioscience, artificial intelligence, microbiology, and precision fermentation to design, discover, and scale biological solutions for health, human and animal nutrition, food, agriculture, and animal protein production.
01 — Biology came first
Biology is one of the most sophisticated, abundant, and transformative forces on the planet. From it come the essentials of life: the food we eat, the oxygen we breathe, the medicines that protect us, the animals that accompany us, and the natural systems that make our existence possible.
We have long described biology as a powerful technology. But that comparison falls short. Technologies are built by humans; biology preceded every human invention. We didn't design it — biology made us possible.
Biological systems grow, organize, and regenerate without conventional factories. They repair tissue, fight threats, and produce complex molecules with a precision that far exceeds much of today's industry — and they do it sustainably, transforming resources, recycling materials, and constantly adapting. Biology doesn't just produce; it evolves.
While humanity has spent a few thousand years building tools and industries, life has had nearly four billion years to experiment, optimize, and perfect its own systems. For the first time, we have the tools to learn directly from those systems and work with them intentionally.
Advances in sequencing, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, gene editing, synthetic biology, and precision fermentation now let us read, understand, design, and scale biological solutions at unprecedented speed. We use them to create better ways to produce ingredients, improve human and animal health, strengthen nutrition, reduce dependence on less sustainable traditional processes, and build more efficient, resilient, and responsible systems.
02 — The platform
We design, discover, and scale microorganisms, bioactives, and biological platforms built to solve real challenges in health, human and animal nutrition, food, agriculture, and wellbeing.

Biotechnology, AI, and precision fermentation to discover, develop, and produce bioactive compounds for human health, animal nutrition, functional foods, beverages, wellness, and longevity — including functional mushrooms like Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi) and Hericium erinaceus (Lion's Mane).

Our Real World Evidence unit applied to the microbiome. GutLab integrates sequencing, bioinformatics, field studies, and longitudinal tracking to measure, validate, and demonstrate the impact of our solutions under real production conditions — on farms, in aquaculture systems, and in actual production environments.

We discover, develop, and commercialize natural-origin probiotics for animal health and nutrition — for poultry, swine, and shrimp — improving gut health, productive efficiency, and resilience against pathogens while helping the industry reduce its dependence on antibiotics.

Bacteriophage-based solutions for animal health and production. Bacteriophages are natural viruses that target bacteria with precision — a promising tool against bacterial pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, and gut health challenges in poultry, swine, shrimp, and other key species.
Learn more03 — Our model
We develop platforms, ingredients, microorganisms, and biological technologies for companies looking to innovate in food, nutrition, health, agriculture, and animal production. Born in the Research Triangle (Durham, North Carolina) — one of the world's leading ecosystems for science, biotechnology, universities, and applied research — we are building a company with global vision, designed from the start to collaborate with international partners and bring biological solutions to high-impact markets.
04 — Collaboration
We collaborate with companies, brands, producers, and industries that want to build differentiated, science-backed products with global potential:
nutraceuticals, functional foods, and beverages.
specialized nutrition and preventive wellness.
poultry, swine, and livestock systems.
from shrimp farms to more resilient production.
microbiome-validated companion animal solutions.
co-developing next-generation biological technologies.
05 — The human element
We believe a biotechnology company should operate like living systems: adapt fast, learn constantly, distribute intelligence, and evolve with every challenge. We call our people Bioworkers — not employees within a traditional structure, but people who take ownership of complex problems, collaborate across disciplines, and work around projects with real impact.
06 — Principles
Every claim backed by data and validated through science and rigorous testing.
AI-native platforms and precision fermentation power every step, delivering functionality, scalability, and sustainability.
Sustainable systems that minimize environmental impact while producing clean, consistent biological solutions.

07 — Alliance
Siwa Bioworks is a natural, strategic extension of Iluma Alliance's purpose: designing nutrition to improve lives. Iluma has built an ecosystem where nutrition, knowledge, technology, innovation, and life sciences converge — and Siwa takes that convergence to a new frontier: applied biotechnology. We believe the future of nutrition won't depend on producing more, but on producing better: with more precision, more science, more sustainability, and greater impact on human, animal, and planetary health.
